At the end of the summer, it’s time to say... THANK YOU!

To our wonderful neighbours Anne, Michael, Conor, Liam, Shem, Ivan, Caroline, Isobel, Jennie, Dec, Ruthie, Sam, Sinead, Rita, Brian, Olivia, Cece, Amelia, Sinead, Garret, Claire, Laura, James, Ben, Eimear, Michael John, Matthew, Valerie, Cosmo, Lineka, Mick, Rose, Hazel, Phil, Pete, Ciara and everyone else for enjoying the place

To Annie and Emily for their expert willow weaving, beautiful smiles and for making lemonade out of lemons when the field turned into a lake

To Mark, Dan, Clare, Koach, Fi, Annette, Caroline, Ivan and everyone else who raised a glass around a bonfire under a starry sky

To Phil and Peter for a most excellent party harbour in the storm

To Paddy for the bird hide, owl box, stiles, benches and chainsaw action. I owe you a lifetime’s supply of Elderflower Cordial

To John Ryan for all the help with the hide and for navigating that drive. I'll never look at a cow box the same way again

To John Fitz for taming those willows

To Shem for the rocks, the bales, and the loan of the Lamborghini

To Jimi, Senan and Mairead for the encouragement

To Ivan for helping to clear the fallen trees... thirsty work ;)

To Isobel for the beautiful card and the occasional bunting

To Sinead and Veolia for the amazing, amazing support

To our visiting fisherpeople, from Ireland, Holland, the UK and Lebanon

To the floods, for reminding me that no matter how great your plans are, you’d better make sure to enjoy the moment too

But most of all to my amazing mum, whose vitality, dedication and love for the River Field inspire me daily :)

Bring on that Autumn chill!
